- Wilson, NY Niagara County — Wilson Harbor and the Niagara Bar — spring browns tight to shore, then kings stacking on the bar through late summer.
- Olcott, NY Niagara County — Burt Dam and Eighteenmile Creek make Olcott the western anchor of the fall and winter steelhead run.
- Point Breeze, NY Orleans County — Oak Orchard Creek mouth — a protected launch and one of the most dependable early-season brown trout ports on the lake.
- Rochester, NY Monroe County — Genesee River mouth, Irondequoit Bay and the Devils Nose — the deepest water closest to a launch anywhere on the south shore.
- Sodus Bay, NY Wayne County — A large protected bay with fast access to the 200-foot line — plus a warmwater fishery inside the bay that most of the lake does not have.
- Fair Haven, NY Cayuga County — Little Sodus Bay — a quiet, sheltered launch with a short run to summer king water.
- Oswego, NY Oswego County — The busiest charter port on Lake America, and the one with a major river running through the middle of it.
- Mexico Bay, NY Oswego County — Port Ontario and the Salmon River mouth — the epicentre of the fall king run on Lake America.
- Henderson Harbor, NY Jefferson County — Eastern basin structure — islands, shoals and reefs that make this the most varied mixed-bag fishing on the lake.
- Cape Vincent, NY Jefferson County — Where the lake becomes the St. Lawrence — heavy current, mixed-bag water, and a fishery unlike anywhere else on Lake America.
- Chaumont, NY Jefferson County — Chaumont Bay: DEC launches, species rules, ice fishing notes and nearby NOAA stations.
- Niagara Bar, NY Niagara County — Niagara Bar and the lower Niagara River: launches, DEC regulations, stocking and the fall king run.
What a Lake America charter costs
Rates on the New York side generally run $550–$650 for a half day (4–5 hours, up to four anglers) and around $850 for a full eight-hour day, with extra anglers past four typically adding about $75 each. Multi-day packages usually price at a modest discount. Rods, tackle, downriggers, fuel and fish cleaning are normally included.
Everyone aged 16 and over needs a valid New York State fishing license. Captains do not supply them.
